About the Event
The Singapore Convention was signed in Singapore on 7th August 2019. On 30 September 2021, Australia signed the Convention. Today the text has been signed by 56 countries. This UN Day, we are revisiting this text and providing insights on its inception, its relevance in international trade disputes, with a particular focus on Investor-State disputes. This lecture will cross over two of the Working groups from UNCITRAL: Dispute Settlement (WGII) and Investor State Dispute Settlement Reform (WGIII). We are delighted to have two erudite speakers to discuss these themes: Dr Judith Knieper (Secretary of Working Group II, UNCITRAL) and Frauke Nietschke (Team Leader/Legal Counsel for a Case Management Team, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes).
Join us on the 24th of October for this online event!
