Sri Lanka amends Electronic Transactions Act, in line with e-CC

We are pleased to announce Sri Lanka gazetted the Bill to amend the Electronic Transactions Act on 29 May 2017.  The Bill is to amend the Electronic Transactions Act, No. 19 of 2006 to bring the Act in line with the United Nations Convention on Convention on the Use of Electronic Communications in International Contracts (New York, 2005) (e-CC).

Sri Lanka ratified e-CC on 7 July 2015 and it entered into force on 1 February 2016.  Sri Lanka is 7th State party to e-CC worldwide and is the 2nd State party in the Asia Pacific region to ratify e-CC.
